Summer is almost over

I uploaded some more pictures into the picture gallery here: http://www.eaglez.net/pictures/v/2008/pics50_jul08profpics/

In the slideshow above we have Sam and her 5 year pictures and TJ and her 18 month pictures which were done in July. It was a very rough session. TJ had a giant bruise and goose egg on her head and was way more interested in running around the studio. :) Very interesting time.

In other things we have been up to news: We went day camping with our friends and the kids had a blast. There is a campsite about 20 minutes away from us with a pool. Everyone had fun even though it was raining and we left just in time to miss tornado weather.

Sam is eagerly awaiting Kindergarten which is a mere 16 days away!! She already got her backpack and lunch box and her sister REALLY wanted to have one too. We have her first day on Kindergarten outfit that she picked out all ready to go and I will be sure to post a picture of my first baby off to school!! :) Sam has her Kindergarten orientation Aug 26th where she will get to meet her teacher. There are several neighbor kids that are also starting Kindergarten this year. We are getting together with them on Wednesday. They will all ride the bus together and a couple are even in her class.

I helped organize our neighborhoods National Night Out and it was really fun. About half of the neighborhood came out for the event!

TJ is getting to be quite a character. She wants to do all sorts of big girl stuff all by herself like washing her hands, brushing her teeth, and she is even getting interested in using the potty. She can run so fast now too. Her physical therapist is so proud of her and says that at next months meeting we will test her out of therapy and she will be done. Basically, do the same test on her that they did to get her into the program again to show that she has the appropriate motor skills for her age and doesn’t need therapy anymore. We will miss having her come out and play with TJ, but we know that she is just fine now and there are other little kids that need her help.

Finally, you will see a picture of all the hard work Brenden did on our landscaping. We are so happy to have it done and love that we get to enjoy it everyday.

That is it for now. :)

Just an update

July 21, 2008 - Posted in updates

No pictures this time, just a note to say that we have officially been made whole by the paypal fraud and the unauthorized visa charge. No answers as to how it happened, but we have changed the way we use the computer. I highly recommend going here: https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=xpt/cps/general/PayPalSecurityKey if you have a paypal account so you can prevent anyone from hacking into your account. They will ship you a little keycode generator that you use every time you log in. It makes a new code every 30 seconds so it makes your account VERY secure.

As for spyware detection and removal, I found one that is pretty good and guarantees 100% spyware removal here. There is a picture of if on the left hand side of the screen. It is kind of annoying that it updates like 3 times a day, but that is a good thing. It means that they are constantly keeping on top of what is out there. If there is anything that it does not remove, you just submit it and they will send out an update to all users that removes it.  Ok I am done. I won’t say exactly what else I have on my machine now, because I am just that paranoid now, but if you want to know, email me. :)

Anyway, this is a busy week for us. We got the girls’ 18 month and 5 year pictures taken this morning. It is really hard at TJ’s age to get good pictures in a studio. That is all I will say. :) When we get them, I will upload them for you.

I signed Sam up for a Kindergarten Plus program for September, which means she will go to school every day instead of every other day. The Kindergarten Plus is like a more relaxed day of school. I thought it would be good for her and I know she will have a blast!

I think that is all. Sorry no picture this time!

After the visit

July 13, 2008 - Posted in updates

Hello!

My parents are now safely back home and I think I am done freaking out about the security breach I had with paypal and/or my computer. (More on that later). Anyway, we had a great visit. My parents and nephew got to come out and stay for a couple of weeks. We didn’t go to a whole lot of places, but we still had fun just visiting. Sam and Zach started off playing together really well.

It soon got a little more emotional as both are very set in having things their way. :)

I think this is such a great picture of my mom and TJ that I just have to put it up. I know she will be all shy about it, but I think it is beautiful.

I have a few more pictures of their visit uploaded to the picture gallery here: http://www.eaglez.net/pictures/v/2008/pics49/

Besides the usual spoiling of the grand babies (see picture below, and yes that is a chocolate lollipop :) ), we also went to the Mall of America. We took the kids to Underwater Adventures and then ate at this really neat restaurant called The Rainforest Cafe. It was very neat and we got to eat right beside an aquarium with an electric eel in it. Very fun!

While we were out having all sorts of fun, Brenden was at home watching TJ and finishing up his very last week of classes. Yeah!! He is finished with his MBA and we had pizza tonight to celebrate (today is the actual last day of class). We are so proud of him!

In case you are curious about what I meant in the beginning about me freaking out about my security breach I will tell you the story. Wednesday evening I noticed a charge on one of my credit cards that I did not do and I asked Brenden about it. He was at work, so I decided to take care of it the next day since he said he didn’t buy anything from classiccloseouts.com and it was only $69.99. I wake up Thursday morning to emails from paypal saying that I sent $550 to one guy and $350 to another guy via paypal from our BANK account!!! I was shocked, outraged and just could not believe it. I have been a member of paypal for 8 years and nothing like this has ever happened. I have virus, firewall, and spyware protection on my machine so I thought I was protected. I guess not. We have $350 back so far, but I am still waiting for the $550 to be refunded. I have been talking to the guy that received my $550 and apparently someone posing as my paypal email address bought some Warcraft character from him for the $550. He said he has told paypal to give me back my money, so hopefully paypal will hurry up and do so! These past couple of days I have been installing more anti-spyware, anti-keylogger software, ect. on my laptop, changing password, and doing all sorts of scans for vulnerability. I also added a new feature to the blog (a widget) so when you come to my website you can get the latest news on the virus’s out there. I don’t believe I mentioned how much I despise thieves. Anyway, that is the rant for now. :)

Take care and change your passwords often! :)
